Any Website project,
either for a small presentation or for a complex site with
e-commerce, needs an accurate study of the company that proposes it and
a clear identification of the site's target.
It
is not enough nowadays for the site to say "We too are here!".
The visitor doesn't have time to waste reading information that isn't
of any use to him and also doesn't want to get bored trying to understand
how the site works.
The success of a site is decided in the first fifteen seconds of visit:
if the surfer is satisfied of what he gets, he continues the visit, if
not, he will probably drop his research and look for another similar site
(therefore a competitor).
Currently
the first phase of "presence" of the Websites on the Internet
is finished.
Many have been successful and are satisfied with the results.
Others might have been disappointed because the results have not been
the hoped ones, but perhaps they have not taken into account that it is
not the medium Internet that is not effective, but it is their site that
has not been able to communictae properly and to convince the visitors.
Who
has had already a site on the Internet, and is still convinced that the
medium is valuable, not only to sell but also as an infrastructure for
communication and for a service to customers, for an Intranet, an Extranet.
He can think to redesign the site with the global approach of the WPM
and not the limited point of view of the Graphic Designer or of the Software
Engineer, who put together a system that apparently works, but that does
not communicate.
Do
you want to know more on the "global" approach of a Web Strategy?
